I’ve declared 2017 the year that I start reading way more books than I did in 2016. Figuring out the best ways to efficiently manage my social media/website obligations created some free time that I plan to utilize doing what I really love to do-read. Immediately I began researching new Caribbean writers to stockpile my TBR stash and came across a few that I’ve never heard of before. Naturally, I had to share them with you. Here are the 7 books I plan on reading in 2017.

The Marvellous Equations of the Dread: A Novel In Bass Riddim- Marcia Douglas (Jamaica)

American Street- Ibi Zoboi (Haiti)

The Sun Is Also A Star- Nicola Yoon (Jamaica)

Augustown- Kei Miller (Jamaica)

Cannibal- Saifyah Sinclair (Jamaica)

Foreign Soil: And Other Stories- Maxine Beneba Clarke (Jamaica)

The Education of Margot Sanchez- Lilliam Rivera (Puerto Rico)
