Christal Alert, the Caribbean founder behind TONAL Cosmetics, has been chosen as one of the eight founders for Sephora’s prestigious 2025 Accelerate program. Growing up in Barbados and Guyana, Christal was inspired by her environment to create a beauty brand that seamlessly blends makeup with advanced skincare and sun protection. TONAL Cosmetics is celebrated for its resilience in the face of the Caribbean’s unique climate, providing products that keep skin protected and looking flawless.
The Sephora Accelerate program is designed to empower BIPOC brand founders through a comprehensive six-month curriculum that includes mentorship, merchandising support, financial grants, and connections with investors. Christal’s selection for this program marks a significant step forward for TONAL, providing her with valuable resources and expertise to help her brand flourish.
Expressing her excitement, Christal noted, “I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the financial expectations that come with scaling. As we prepare for retail and look to fundraise for this expansion, we want to ensure we’re fully equipped to meet the demands of growth — from budgeting and pricing strategies to managing inventory and enhancing the in-store experience.”
With this new opportunity, Christal is set to elevate TONAL Cosmetics, reinforcing her role as a trailblazer in the beauty industry and proudly representing Caribbean innovation.
