Theophilio Spring/Summer 2026 ‘Riddim’ Collection Brings Caribbean Heritage to Brooklyn Runway

Theophilio’s Spring/Summer 2026 show, titled Riddim, transformed a Brooklyn runway into a vivid celebration of Caribbean heritage. Designer Edvin Thompson infused the collection with the textures, colors, and carefree spirit of the islands, translating personal memories and cultural touchstones into a bold, wearable narrative. Drawing inspiration from long drives with friends and the sensory impressions of the destinations that shaped him, Thompson delivered what he describes as a “visual mixtape” of his life and roots.

The collection featured graffiti-sequined swimwear, printed mini dresses, matching co-ord sets, and satin tracksuits, each piece radiating the warmth and audacity synonymous with Thompson’s signature style. A primary color palette of amber yellows, reds, and blues commanded attention, while bold patterns and striking colorblocking kept the energy flowing throughout the runway. Every look was both a statement and a story, embodying the exuberance of Caribbean culture while maintaining a modern, fashion-forward sensibility.

Riddim balanced maximalist showmanship with casual island energy. Button-up shirts were styled unbuttoned, sparkling Speedos were paired with airbrushed body paint, and pieces ranged from beach-ready ease to high-impact, nightlife-ready ensembles. Puma Mostro sneakers and sleek pointed-toe boots grounded the collection, merging streetwear functionality with runway polish.

The soundtrack amplified the Caribbean influence, blending pulsing dancehall rhythms with moments of immersive, headphone-worn experiences for select models. Thompson’s Spring/Summer 2026 Riddim collection was a love letter to the culture that shaped him, presenting Caribbean style not as inspiration but as the core narrative, threading heritage and contemporary design into a seamless celebration of color, energy, and identity.
