One of our favourite things to do when planning a trip is to hop on TikTok, Instagram or Youtube (Twitter as well- and yes- we will never refer to it as X) for quick little reviews on the best places to visit, restaurants to eat from and safest places to lime. If we’re island hopping through the region, the best resource that we have at our fingertips is the local influencers indigenous to the island- or even persons from other islands who may visit.
Caribbean travel influencers provide a unique perspective on the region but also offer valuable insights and recommendations that can enhance your trip. Unlike guidebooks that may be outdated or generic, influencers are constantly on the ground, exploring new destinations, trying out local cuisine, and staying in the latest accommodations. Their firsthand experiences allow them to provide up-to-date information and honest reviews, giving you a realistic view of what to expect during your Caribbean adventure.
What we find that we appreciate the most is that these influencers often have a strong connection to the local community as they make an effort to engage with the locals, support local businesses, and promote sustainable tourism practices. This not only benefits the local economy but also allows travellers to have a more authentic experience.
